SUMMER DAY CAMP

Our summer program is the heart of Camp Makerie.
We run 9 weeks of camp for ages 5-13, running 9a-3p with extended care available from 7:45a-5:30p starting the first week of June and ending the first week of August.
We are a story building MAKER camp. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! Each summer we dive back into the magical world of Makerie, an imaginary place full of characters and adventures, silliness, and mischief. We have pet Meowshrooms and a Fairy Mail System, we have a fearless leader Toadwart and his magical Bearicorn horn wand that protects the magic of Makerie. We help Toadwart with that great task, because we also have VILLAINS in Makerie (the teen crew and of course OOB the Slime King, our great nemesis!)
Campers immerse in our story and world and then will concept, engineer, and build a team project to tackle whatever great disaster has befallen Makerie that week. Teams build in age groups with a great emphasis on building community together and accomplishing things bigger than ourselves. They build that project all week long learning that to make something special and important, you have to put in a lot of effort.
UPCOMING PROJECT THEMES ARE LISTED ON OUR DATES + RATES PAGE
Campers also get to choose their own activities for our FREE CHOICE afternoons where a variety of sports, arts, crafts, STEM, Theater, Nature, and so much more will be offered. A big thing to note is we are a SCREEN Free camp! That means we dont play movies or video games as part of our activities. (Even when it rains or at the very end of the day!) Once a week we also have a massive camp wide WATER DAY activity on our campus. The last day of camp is the culmination of everything we created and built together, closing out the week in one awesome blow out event.
Our projects are built with cardboard and PVC pipes, paint, and a sprinkle of magic, and then we have adventures with what we built.
Our Camps are always screen-free, a mix of indoor and outdoor play, with ratios of staff to camper at 1/8.
